Emina Ashman is an actor, theatre-maker and writer based in Naarm/Melbourne. Her creative expression contours around acting, poetry, dance and performance art. She holds an Honours in Independent Theatre Practice from the Victorian College of the Arts. She was most recently involved in the premiere of “Make Me A Houri” at La Mama Courthouse in 2019, performing the roles of actor and playwright within its production. As a regular performer of her own work, Emina shares her art at Melbourne spoken word and music open-mic nights, conscious wellbeing festivals and multi-disciplinary art activations. Emina loves sharing work from a fairly romantic, feminine and intimate place. She is interested in examining concepts of sensuality and spirituality in her work.Her art revolves around her responses towards religious freedom, inter-faith relationships, multi-cultural upbringing and self-healing.
